The PTO is thrilled that we've been able to purchase iPads for these teachers! We hope that many of you are seeing them being put to use in the classroom and maybe are even getting to use them a bit yourselves!
The PTO is fortunate to have enthusiastic and supportive families at Emerick. Our volunteers are plentiful and our participation in our fundraising events is amazing! There is seldom a request for help that goes unanswered: From BINGO to Volleyball, Claire's Gourmet to Spirit Wear, our activities are well attended and often sold out and our fundraisers often generate more money than we anticipate. Our families are so very generous in their support of this school!
We are also very fortunate to have the support of the Purcellville Community. The many merchants in our small town are willing to support our school in so many ways including food and item donations, goods to be sold, discounts on needed items and, often, a share of the profits on special occasions. Their willingness to give financial support to Emerick is amazing!
The PTO has spent a lot of time this year discussing the best use of funds generated from fundraising over the years. Last month, the PTO decided that technology is the way of the future and ALL of our teachers need to have access to it. Keeping all of this in mind, the PTO is very excited to announce that, in addition to the first 10 iPads purchased for the staff at Emerick, we have recently purchased a storage and syncing cart and 20 more iPads!
The PTO has spent nearly $18,000 on this project this year. Without the support of the community and the parents and students (past and present) of Emerick Elementary School, this would not be possible.
